Errands & Transportation
Our qualified caregivers can help seniors by doing the shopping and errands for them or by providing the transportation and assistance required by the person to accomplish these tasks themselves. Examples of the types of transportation, errands, and shopping assistance we provide include but are not limited to: Doctor/dental appointments, Barbershop/hairdresser and nail salon, visits to the senior center, family events, and community activities, Grocery store/pharmacy, department store shopping, dining out and other leisure activities.
Help with errands, shopping, and transportation falls under the category of Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs). These are the complex skills that are necessary in order to live independently and that all of us do once we are up, out of bed, dressed, and ready to start our day.
way homecare provides assistance with these tasks because we understand that many older adults can continue to live independently when they have help with IADLs. Shopping and errands can be done either with the client or by the caregiver alone.
